Human Resource Development
As the spread of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and TB attract greater attention to the need for improved and expanded health service delivery, the need for better systems for human resources development and management has never been greater. Initiatives provides technical leadership in human resources policy development, planning, management, assessment, and training. We understand that the development of human resource systems dramatically increases the quality and effectiveness of health service delivery and, ultimately, health outcomes.
Initiatives has assisted national governments, district managers and NGO leaders to conduct human resource assessments; develop human resources management information systems; create effective staffing and training plans; design and implement staff performance improvement systems; strengthen supportive, integrated, supervisory systems; and monitor staff performance and staffing requirements. Our work has also been applied to strengthening HR management in newly decentralized health systems.
