United Nations Development Program Regional Project for HIV/AIDS
The first UNDP Regional Project for HIV/AIDS in Asia and the South Pacific focused on raising awareness of the social and economic implications of the HIV/AIDS pandemic at the government level. The project promoted multi-sectoral responses and emphasized support for the emerging involvement of NGOs and the private sector in HIV/AIDS prevention and support programs.
Initiatives assisted Plan India (a local NGO) to build their capacity to run effective family planning programs, increase contraceptive usage, improve program quality and maximize government and NGO collaboration.
Many documents were produced by Initiatives under this project. Click here for more details.
